2020 PHILADELPHIA CRIME STATISTICS
District Attorney Larry Krasner’s dangerous policies have had deadly consequences that have directly caused murder, violence and mayhem and thousands of innocent victims and their families have paid the ultimate price since he took office in 2018.
Krasner only prosecutes 49% of illegal gun arrests. Every 1 of 2 violent criminals carrying an illegal gun gets let go back on the streets as a result of Krasner dropping the charges.
He campaigned and followed through on his promises to end or LoweR Cash bail, offer lesser sentences for violent crimes, Drop charges and to decarcerate when possible to keep criminals out of jail or prison.
As a result, the DA's OFFICE released many criminals after They committed violent crimes and once free, they would again commit more violent crimes AGAINST innocent victims. These repeat offenders are given second chances to continually hurt or kill innocent people, time and time again.
2020 HAS BEEN THe deadliest year in the past 3 decades with 499 Murders since 1990's RECORD of approximately 500 murders. This past year, Philadelphia had the 2nd highest murder rate in the US- More than new york city and only less than chicago.
2021 is on track to set another homicide record with 146 murders to date- a 33% increase. There have been 828 shootings with 546 shooting victims- many of whom are children.
In his self-appointed quest for misguided social justice, he has prioritized the rights of the criminals over the rights of the victims and their families and has repeatedly chased headlines, TV interviews and fame to promote himself and his dangerous policies for his political aspirations of higher office.
